At St Katherine's School & Nursery we value children’s creativity, individuality and the development of artistic skills.

All children have the opportunity to develop a variety of artistic techniques and skills, and build upon these as they progress through the school. All the Art units begin with a focus on an artist to enable children to develop their understanding and knowledge of famous artists. Throughout units of work, they may also visit and look at other artists to broaden their understanding of how artists work linking and building on each other. 

We use sketch books to enable children to showcase their learning in the most amazing way. Each child receives their own personal sketchbook, and it is there for them to express themselves and their learning.
