School Ambassadors

Ambassadors

Our School Ambassadors are a group of 4 children who were elected to represent the views of all and work hard to improve and represent their school.

St Katherine’s School & Nursery School Ambassadors are made up of members from Year 6.

The Ambassador role is to act as a link between the children in the school, the Senior Leadership Team and the Governors of Katherine’s School & Nursery.

As an Ambassador, they have a special role in making sure that the children in our school have a voice, have opportunities to evaluate and develop the school, make community links and represent the school.

Each Ambassador was elected through a democratic process, providing children with individual liberty to empower choices around their education.

Roles and Responsibilities

Meeting The Mayor and Mayoress

Our School Ambassadors and our Reading Ambassadors enjoyed talking to The Mayor and Mayoress about their roles and responsibilities and also their love of reading during the opening of our new reading vending machine.

For most children, it was the first time they had seen the Mayor, and they were excited to learn about his roles, which linked to our community and responsibility values.

Here is what the Mayor had to say about his visit:

'We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to St Katherine’s today, where the new school values are being extremely well promoted and with so much enthusiasm. Mr Lang has a clear vision which inspires the children, who show great fondness towards him and the staff. The journey has only just begun, and we are sure that great things are to come.

We were particularly impressed with the enthusiasm for history, art and reading and the other subjects are no doubt enjoyed with similar joy and dedication. It was also wonderful to see the nurture the school provides for children through the nurture provision, sensory rooms and Mylo – the school dog.

Overall, it was a wonderful visit.'

James and Jill Lark (Mayor & Mayoress of Tonbridge and Malling)

Visit to Pilgrims View Care Home

Our Ambassadors visited Pilgrims View Care Home to deliver some handmade postcards and origami flowers that Year 6 children had made as part of their work on the values of community and compassion,

They certainly put some smiles on people's faces.
Great Community work Ambassadors!
