At St Katherine’s School & Nursery we want to develop children’s natural curiosity about the world around them. Our Science curriculum is being developed by the Science Leads across our Trust and with support from a local secondary school.  All children from Years 1 to 6 are taught science each week.  In Early Years the Science is integrated with other areas of the curriculum as part of the Understanding of the World.

We have a knowledge rich curriculum where children are taught the scientific knowledge that will help them as they leave us and move on in their education. Where possible opportunities are provided for children to gain first hand experiences and to develop their scientific enquiry skills. We encourage children to ask and answer questions and challenge their own thinking.

All children are supported in accessing the science curriculum regardless of their needs.
