As part of our learning this term we looked at a harvest time celebrations from different cultures. We learnt about Sukkot a Jewish festival of thanksgiving. The children enjoyed collecting branches from around the school to make a 'Sukkah', a hut with a roof of leaves and branches which is used to eat meals in for several days. They then decorated the sukkah with traditional sun catchers made to look like slices of citrus fruit. It was great fun and enabled the children to think about how they say thank you to the special people in their own lives.
