Visit to Chatham Dockyard June 2016

Reception Visit

The Reception Classes had a fantastic opportunity to enhance their learning about Pirates and the sea, when they visited Chatham Dockyard. They looked at the lifeboats and had the chance to go inside and pretend to be on the sea. They especially liked the little Teddy driving the lifeboat. We went into the smithy and looked at the model boats inside the glass cabinets. We looked around the  boat displays including the submarine and other large ships. The highlight of the trip was to meet Pirate Debbie ' a real pirate' who showed us all her pirate equipment such as her cutlass, sword, telescope and pirate hats. We dressed up as pirates and learnt a pirate song. We all had lots of fun and we all learnt something new!
