The Reception Classes have been visiting Ashenbank Woods near Cobham. They were full of enthusiasm for their first trip away from school! They had a great time in the woods, using their senses to explore their new surroundings. Two of the classes were lucky enough to see the cows grazing nearby. They noticed the signs of winter- the bare branches on the trees and the leaves across the ground. They had the opportunity to climb and balance on large fallen tree trunks, learning to manage risks and gain confidence in their own abilities. They especially enjoyed having fun in the mud, hearing squelching sounds and noticing patterns their wellies had made. What a fantastic learning opportunity!
