We have ended our term with a beautiful story called, 'Matisse's Magical Trail', it explores creativity, encouraging children to notice the small things, think big and express themselves.  We love using our environment and resources in Acorn Class to find new and exciting ways to express our ideas and feelings.  Taking part in the processes and building up our confidence in trying new things, helps us to learn about ourselves and recognise what we like or dislike.

In phonics we have been using the musical instruments to explore sounds, we used our bodies to create sounds, following patterns of rhythm. We have been learning new rhymes and are trying hard to remember them by heart.  Learning rhymes is essential in supporting our early literacy development.  Share your favourite nursery rhyme with your family.

In maths we have been recapping on our number knowledge and exploring pattern.  We are getting really fast at recognising numbers zero to five using flashcards.

We wish everyone a fantastic half term! See you back Monday 21st February for the start of Term 4.
