This week in Acorn class we have been reading a book called 'Chickens Can't See in the Dark', but they can if they eat lots of carrots! There could be some requests for more carrots on dinner plates over the weekend!
We have been exploring light and dark, having lots of fun building dens and adding torches and reflective discs. We have been discussing our topic in circle times, trying hard to listen to others talk and using our developing language skills to share our own ideas. We have created a long list of all the things that make us think of light and dark. At bedtime, take a look out of your window and talk about what you can see together .
In our maths learning we are still focusing on pattern, but this week we have been trying to recognise mistakes in patterns. Which object does not fit the pattern, saying why it is wrong and using our problem-solving skills to make the pattern correct again.
Finally, this week we have started practising our Christmas songs and we must tell you, we are pretty good at singing them and look super cute when we add the actions. We can not wait to perform our songs to all of our grown ups in December.
