We made it to the end of term 2! Some of our friends decided to stay at home this week to stay safe for Christmas, we missed them very much.  Still, we had a fun week getting excited for Christmas.

Our Christmas video went up on the website this week, we had fun making it and know all the words to the song 'Santa Claus is coming to town".  To view the video go to the 'Children' tap, click 'Home Learning', scroll down to 'Video centre' click and you should see the section called 'Christmas Videos', scroll until you find Acron class Christmas video.

This week we explored seasonal vegetables in the outdoor area to make Chrsitmas soup, verdict on brussels sprouts is not great!  We have loved using our new luminous paint colours to create a Christmas lights picture.  Some of us went as far to cover paint all over and up our arms! Some of use practised our mark making skills with the chalks outside to draw festive pictures.

We got our muscles working and did some exercise to a cosmic yoga Christmas special,  in prepartion for all the yummy foods we are going to be eating over the Christmas holidays.  We used our senses to guess what was in the gift box, we had some great ideas and were good at listening to our friends and waiting our turn.   We had a circle time to share what present we would really like to get from Father Christms this year.

The last day was meant to be our Christmas party day, as this didn't happen, we will have a party day when we fill up our marble jar! Mrs Webb will let everyone know in advance when this will be.  However, those of us that were in school still had a great last day, we went on a treasure hunt for some sweet treats, we all had to find two each and put them in a bowl.  Once all the treats were found we got to share them out and eat them (always good to incorporate some maths learning).  To end our day we relaxed and watched a Christmas movie!

The adults in Acorn class would like to wish all of our families a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
