Our story this week was 'The lighthouse keeper's lunch.' We began the week by following instructions to make sandwiches. The children could choose ham, cheese or jam - we had some interesting combinations! We had a problem solving activity which involved the children getting into groups and working together to get the picnic basket from one side of the 'sea' to the other using skipping ropes, crates, etc. There was great team work going on and the children successfully solved the problem. We then discussed what lighthouses were and what they looked like. The children made their own lighthouse using junk modelling and construction.
