If your child is self-isolating or we are in lockdown due to the Covid19 restrictions please click on the link below for this weeks Home Learning activities.

We would like to say a huge welcome to all of our new children this week.  It has been a busy first week back after Easter, with our older children teaching our younger children the rules and rountines of Acorn class.  We are very excited for the upcoming term and our new topic, 'What on Earth?!'.   This week's focus book 'Here we are' by Oliver Jeffers is a beautiful book and a great book to share together, Acorn class highly recommend it!

Everyone has enjoyed celebrating and learning about Earth week.  We have had some great discussions on how we can look after our planet.  We have looked at different materials we can recycle and talked about the different coloured bins we might have at home to help us use less rubbish and recycle more.  Next week, we are going to introduce recycling buddies, they will be responsible for all of our recycling in Acorn class.

In our maths learning we have consolidated our number recognition to six, we had fun using natural resources to make numbers. In our outside area we found a ladybird and used our counting skills to count its spots, it was a bit tricky because the ladybird kept moving. But, we managed to carefully count seven spots on our fleeting visitor.  Next week, we will explore the number seven.

At the end of our week, we took a visit to our garden area located at the other end of the school.  We always like to venture out on to our school field.  Once we arrived at the garden, we prepared and planted a selection of vegetables.  Fingers crossed they grow well! Do not worry if you were not in on Friday, we will be taking regular visits to water and check in on our fresh produce.

Don't forget, we are uploading sneak peeks of our learning on social media throughout the week. Check in and see what us little acorns are getting up to in nursery.
