We have had a very busy week in Reception.  We learnt about 3D shapes, naming them, sorting them into groups, exploring whether they rolled or not. We printed using the faces of 3D shapes and made some lovely pictures. We looked at patterns and made our own repeating patterns using a variety of resources such as cubes, counters and natural objects including pine cones and acorns. Our book this week was 'The hungry caterpillar' and we learnt about lifecycles as well as healthy eating. We walked up to the pond in the school grounds and were astounded to find lots of frogspawn! We are looking forward to seeing tadpoles soon! At the end of the week we had a lovely visit from the Nursery guinea pigs, Tinkerbell and Rosie. The children loved seeing them eating their carrots and had the opportunity to stroke them.
