This week we have continued our termly topic on Superheroes. We learnt about who Grace Darling was and why she was a superhero of her time. We discussed how Grace would have felt and thought she would have felt scared and worried at the beginning of her journey but then she would have been happy when she rescued the people. The children agreed she was a very brave lady. We then talked about the work of the RNLI and watched a video of them in action. We compared the different boats they travelled in to save people. The children enjoyed role-playing being these people using crates and sticks for boats and paddles! They also constructed boats using mobilo, sticklebricks and lego. We made moving boat pictures and printed using sponges to create the sea. In Phonics we introduced the letters 'l' and 'r' and in Maths we continued to focus on the numbers 6, 7 and 8 - finding different ways to make these numbers.
