This week in Acorn Class we have been learning about rhyme and reading a book called 'Duck in the Truck'. We spotted that some of the words had the same letters and sounded the same. For our phonics learning, we had fun clapping the syllables in our names, you could try this together at home.
We have been enoying our topic 'On The Move', learning about different types of transport. We are going to meet a new vehicle in our focus book next week, it is a little bit cheeky and gets up to lots of mischief!
In our maths learning, we have been consolidating our knowledge and understanding of number. Creating number lines and putting numbers zero to ten in the correct order and matching numerals to their corresponding quanities.
The older members of Acorn Class have been trying really hard with their name writing practise, the adults are very impressed with how much progress everyone has made in their writing development.
At the beginning of the week, we were lucky to have extra help from local secondary school students. I think we wore them out, playing 'Duck, duck, goose'. At the end of the week, we went on the big field and joined in with running races on the track.
The next few weeks are going to be really busy with transition dates for children moving up to reception. We are all excited for our party at the end of term and are making the most of the time we have left together in Acorn Class.
