Acorn class have had a fantastic week of learning, with activities inspired by our focus story 'Monkey Puzzle'. We enjoyed talking about the story and recalling the different animals as the monkey and butterfly met them. We sequenced the story and played memory games to give our brians a workout.
For our maths learning, we have been learning about repeating patterns, using natural resources and fresh fruit and vegetgables to create our own patterns. We have also been looking at different baby animals and matching them to their adults, developing an understanding of similarities and differences.
It may not be to everyone's liking, but in Acorn class we love rainy days and we have definitely seen lots of rain this week. Jumping in puddles and getting messy in the mud kitchen are some of our favourite rainy day activities. Plus, we like to sing rainy day rhymes, as this increases our early phonics skills.
