Acorn class have been very busy this week. We got into the festive spirit early and put our Christmas tree up on Monday, ready for 1st of December.  We incorporated our maths learning by each adding one bauble to the tree.  We really enjoyed our number hunt, we are all very good at recognising the number 1 and have been practising writing the numeral 1.

On Tuesday a cheeky elf appeared in Acorn class, the elf is called ‘Oaky’.  It gets up to lots of mischief when we go home each night.

Our focus book this week was ‘Whatever Next’, it was loved by all.  The cardboard box that was introduced as a prop, proved very popular and encouraged lots of communication and language skills, along with many trips to space!

Christmas is in full swing in Acorn class, we have been listening to Christmas songs and learning actions for our Christmas video.  We made some stained glass Christmas trees and practised our mark making skills on a big paper bauble, we added glitter of course!

Next week, we will focus on ‘The Christmas Story’ and learn why some people celebrate Christmas and what it means to us and our families.
