This week we have been celebrating Chinese New Year. We started the week by looking at how people prepare and celebrate Chinese New Year. We then looked at the story of Chinese New Year - 'The Great Race'. We found out that this year was the year of the Tiger and we found out what animal represented the year we were born in. On Wednesday we were lucky enough to have our parents and grandparents come in to help us with some Chinese New Year crafts and games. We had so much fun showing them everything we had learnt. We then drew our favourite Chinese zodiac animal and wrote a sentence about it. In Phonics, we learnt the new sounds 'k' and 'u' and learned how to read and write some words using these sounds. In Maths, we have been consolidating our knowledge of numbers 6, 7 and 8 and started exploring longer, taller and shorter.
