From autumn walks to homemade apple crumble, another week in Acorn class has passed by. Continuing with our topic 'Look out world, here we come', we have been sharing a heartwarming story called 'Wherever You Are My Love Will Find You'. A beautifully illustrated story, evoking a sense of belonging through loving relationships. Enjoying and listening to stories together in nursery is an important part of our daily routine, together we are learning a wide range of new vocabulary and are increasing our listening and attention skills. Sharing stories at home together will support and develop these skills further, please remember everyone is welcome to borrow books from our lending library in the entrance hall.
We had fun with phonics this week, completing a body percussion circle time. This is where we use parts of our bodies to make quiet and loud sounds, creating fast and slow patterns of sound by clapping our hands and stomping our feet. Try this at home and have fun were your family creating different sounds and rhythms.
In maths we have continued to develop our understanding of pattern, using leaves and sticks we found on our autumn walk. Though, we were a bit disappointed in the selection of leaves on the ground. Any donations of nature autumn treasures would be very much apprecipated.
We ended our week, keeping fit and healthy with lots of exercise. We watched a video on Cbeebies explaining that we need to get lots of sleep and eat lots of healthy foods to stay fit and strong too.
Watch out for weekly updates on our Facebook and Twitter page of our nursery adventures.
