Drawing & Talking Therapy
Drawing and Talking Therapy is an alternative form of therapy to CBT and direct talking therapy which is offered here at St Katherine’s School & Nursery by Miss Coates, who has completed Drawing and Talking training. Half hour sessions are held on a one-to-one basis for a 12-week duration. These sessions are non-intrusive and child led.
It is offered to children who struggle to talk about their emotional needs and any trauma which they may have experienced. Drawing allows the children to express, in a visual form any preoccupations from within their mind that they would not be able to express with words. In turn this helps them release any thoughts and be able to move forward with a sense of control.
